I felt odd, disturbed
when I woke up to go to the bathroom,
an anxious monkey on my back, in my mind.
Not good.

Closing my eyes
I felt relieved as the
sleep world
welcomed me.

Trying to get outside
to escape the mob,
the unconscious insane mob
that kills.

I navigate the old building,
a lighthouse, bell tower?
I climb the inner architecture,
cubes and vertical rectangles.
The ascent is narrow.
I see daylight above.

In an obscure nook is an exit
covered by a tight mesh screen.
I try to dislodge it.
I canʼt bust it to get outside.
I have to get outside.

Then I see a light on the floor below
moving, seemingly searching.
For me? Or does it have
another purpose?

I am trapped!
Whomever or whatever it is
I have no escape,
if it is coming for me.

I am cornered.
I watch the moving light below

Panic!
I am trapped in frenzy.

Steady!
I will attack
with all my might
whatever the dire consequences!

I SCREAM

Did I actually scream
to wake up?

My eyes open,
awake in the dark bedroom.

Awake, I see electric air,
almost sizzling shapes.
I feel demons.
I am in the grip of its aura.

I know I am a man in a bed
who had an intense
disturbing dream.

I close my eyes
and go back to sleep.
