Michelle Kingston reports.

Officer’s quarter’s number one at Fort Concho is the old home of Colonel Benjamin Grierson and his family. In 1878, Grierson’s 13-year-old daughter, Edie, contracted typhoid fever and died in the upstairs bedroom.

“There’s a heaviness, kind of a tightness in the chest around the heart,” West Texas Paranormal Researcher Steven Haidinger said, explaining the way it feels when you’re in the presence of a ghost. “Then, you begin to feel pressure and then you feel how you would feel in a certain circumstance.”

Haidinger has investigated more than 25 hauntings in west Texas.
