Yes, you read that correctly, there are 14 a’s in way.

Out on DVD

V/H/S: Viral is the third installment in the V/H/S franchise that premiered in theaters November 21, 2014, and is out on DVD as of February 17, 2015. Each entry in the V/H/S series is a collection of found-footage short films by emerging filmmakers. V/H/S: Viral depicts fame-obsessed teens attempting to obtain any and all noteworthy activity on their camera phones in the streets of Los Angeles. These teens soon become the stars of the videos as they face their own deaths.

Even with a slew of directors that includes Aaron Moorhead, Gregg Bishop, Justin Benson, Marcel Sarmiento, Nacho Vigalondo, Todd Lincoln, and Vince Cupone, this horror movie received only a 38% critics rating, and 15% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Die hard fans may want to check it out; casual viewers may want to look elsewhere.

In Theaters Now

Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis star in the new Sci-Fi space thriller, Jupiter Ascending. Jupiter Jones (Mila Kunis) is a young caretaker living on Earth, who begins to realize that her genetic signature marks her as next in line for an inheritance that could balance the cosmos. She is targeted by the ruthless son of a powerful family (Eddie Redmayne) living on a planet in need of a new heir. Caine, a genetically engineered warrior (Channing Tatum), is tasked with aiding Jupiter in her plight. Sounds like a movie after my own heart!

Jupiter Ascending is filled with action, special effects and gorgeous costumes. Directed and written by Andy and Lana Wachowski (creators of The Matrix Trilogy), Jupiter Ascending premiered on February 6, 2015 and is in theaters now. Check out the trailer here:

Books

James Rollins and Rebecca Cantrell have debuted Blood Infernal, the (hopefully) epic conclusion to The Order of the Sanguines series. This trilogy features Father Rhun Korza, Army Sergeant Jordan Stone, and archaeologist Erin Granger as they try to protect the world from evil forces. Beginning with Blood Gospel, the tome written by Christ and lost for centuries, Erin and her unlikely comrades must band together to search for a treasure lost for millennia.

Blood Infernal will have you following our heroes, and heroine, across the globe, and through centuries to defeat Lucifer himself.

With a publication date of February 10, 2015, Blood Infernal will be flying off the shelves. Get your copy before they’re gone!

Events

Haunted Events brings you A Supernatural Evening with Jeff Belanger at the Conant Public Library in Massachusetts. The presentation will be at the Chocksett Middle School Theater on Thursday, February 19, at 6 PM. This multi-media lecture will include images, audio clips, and video footage from his exploration of the unknown, while highlighting famous haunts. The free event will include a question and answer session, and is open to the public.

Jeff is a well-known author that has written over a dozen books on the paranormal, including Weird Massachusetts and Paranormal Encounters: A Look at the Evidence. He is also a prolific paranormal researcher, and Emmy-nominated host and producer of the New England Legends series on PBS. Take a look at the trailer for the series here:
