This is your Paranormal Galaxy Magazine weekly Pop Culture Update for the week of August 22nd, 2014!

Out in theaters today is a movie called The Possession of Michael King!

A filmmaker named Michael King doesn’t believe in anything religious or paranormal. After the death of his wife, Michael makes it his mission to make his next film about the search for the existence of the supernatural, trying to disprove it. He is so confident that the supernatural doesn’t exist that he makes himself the center of the experiment. He allows demonologists, necromancers, and practitioners of the occult try the deepest and darkest spells and rituals on him. Even though he hopes that he’ll disprove the existence of religion, spirituality, and the paranormal, something happens to him. An evil force has taken over Michael King, and it won’t let him go.

Be sure to check out this terrifying movie! It is Rated R, so be careful with who you bring to this movie. Look and see if it is showing at a movie theater near you!

This past Tuesday, a new magicians’ show premiered on Syfy! This show is called Wizard Wars, and it is a competition show where magicians compete against each other and experts to win $10,000. In the competition, the magicians are made to use random everyday objects to create a short routine. This show included the use of mannequins, super soakers, spam, fencing foils, and more! Experts, including the infamous pair Penn & Teller, judge the routines by their overall performance and use of the objects. This show definitely features some mind blowing magic that will leave you wondering “How in the world did they do that?”

This shows airs Tuesdays at 10 pm EST on Syfy! For more information, log on to syfy.com

Penn & Teller also have their own reality competition show called Penn & Teller:  Fool Us! This show airs on the CW Wednesdays at 8 pm EST. I have also mentioned this show on last week’s update, so if you want a summary click here. Watch full episodes of this show on cwtv.com

These crazy combinations included an alligator and armadillo hybrid, and a bobcat and tawny owl hybrid, both of these looks made top looks! Next week will be a fantasy movie treat, as the competitors will create characters that are a blend of The Wizard of Oz and Alice in Wonderland! This episode is sure to inspire.
